The Best Gadgets for Christmas

It’s almost Christmas time again. A time for holiday, family, but also to indulge your inner geek. And one of the ways to indulge yourself or your serious other is to buy her/him a nice gadget. To find your best gadget, we’ve made a small list of items to help you choose the right one. Let us know what you think, and if you think we’re missing the best gadget ever!

61QG2uHzY3L._SL1000_Amazon Kindle (Black, 6″) – I have to admit, I *love* paper books. But I recently discovered the advantages of having an e-reader. For example, if you’re going on holiday, just store multiple books on your e-reader and enjoy! It saves a lot of space in your suitcase.

51IYIUE4+SLArchos Music Beany – This is a great gift for these cold winter days!  This knitted hat is available in white, blue, black and grey. It keeps you warm AND it has an integrated Bluetooth(R) Headset.

Books on T-shirts – This is one of my favorites: unique t-shirts created entirely from the text of your favorite books. There’s a great collection of shirts and books, like ‘Alice in Wonderland’  or ‘Origin of Species’. And the t-shirts are also available with V-neck.

2000568995Fibaro Wall Plug –  This highly functional wall plug can be applied wherever you want to control electrical devices, while monitoring power consumption in a convenient and maintenance-free way. And well, it just looks very nice :-)

Geeky Heart Necklace. This is a unique circuit board necklace in beautiful blue, upcycled from computer’s motherboard. Geeky, tech friendly and well, just very cute :-)

Google Chromecast – Chromecast is a media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV. Simply use your mobile device and the TV you already own to cast your favorite TV shows, movies, music, sports, games and more. Chromecast works with iPhone, iPad, Android phone and tablet, Mac and Windows laptop, and Chromebook.

ION Max LP – Listen, connect, and convert. Max LP is a simple all-in-one turntable that makes it easy to enjoy your records and convert them to digital music files on your computer. It comes with built-in stereo speakers so you can just kick back and listen to your records.

Valence Lightsaber – This is actually a crowdfunding project. But still, how can you not like this Lightsaber? :D

Philips Wake up Light (HF3520) – Especially in the winter, I have a hard time getting out of bed. I really love the Philips Wake Up Light. You can choose between five different natural wake up sounds, but  I think it’s great to wake up with birds singing.

Planetarium Watch – Okay, this watch is WAY too expensive, I know. But wow.. I just love this, so I just wanted to share it with you :-).

Ring Clock – This is actually a combination between a ring and a watch.  You will be rewarded with the time, when you play with this wonderful gadget.

Raspberry Pi Zero – Raspberry Pi Zero, made in Wales and priced at just $5  is a full-fledged member of the Raspberry Pi family. Raspberry Pi Zero runs Raspbian and all your favourite applications, including Scratch, Minecraft and Sonic Pi. If you’re living in the UK, you could find a free Raspberry Pi Zero on the front of each copy of the December issue of The MagPi (out of stock).

sphero bb 8

Sphero BB-8 – Meet BB-8 – the app-enabled Droid that’s as authentic as it is advanced. BB-8 has something unlike any other robot – an adaptive personality that changes as you play. Based on your interactions, BB-8 will show a range of expressions and even perk up when you give voice commands. Set it to patrol and watch your Droid explore autonomously, make up your own adventure and guide BB-8 yourself, or create and view holographic recordings.

iKettle, The WiFi Connected Smart Brewer

Smarter iKettle – Brew fresh bean to cup coffee or tea every time from the tap of your smartphone or tablet. Adjust the strength and taste
preferences, even set alarms and auto-schedules via the app. Smarter coffee connects via the smarter app in perfect harmony with the iKettle.
